In this course students will perform experiments to verify practically the theories and concepts based in PHY 101 and PHY 201.

Using Slide Caliper/ Vernier Calipers, measure the following:

  1.   Length of a metal sample in inch and centimeter and 

         calculate the ratio between the CGS and FPS units

  1.   The volume of a Cylinder
  2.   Volume of a metallic round Bob 
  3.   Volume of a Cubic metal
  4.   Ratio between two spheres

Experiment-02

Using Screw Gauge, measure the following

  1. Diameter, Radius and area of a  metallic Wire
  2. Diameter, Radius and area of a  metallic Cylinder

Experiment-03

Using Sperometer, Calculate the following:

  1. Thickness of a Glass Sample
  2. Ratio between two Glass Samples

 Using a simple pendulum, measure the following

  1. Graph of Length versus squire of time period
  2.  Value of  g

Using a Kater’s reversible pendulum, measure the following

Using the  Searle’s Apparatus, Calculate the following

  1.    Variation of Frequency of a Tuning Fork using Sono-meter  

          and hence find  the unknown frequency of a tuning

          fork.

  1.    Verify the laws of transverse variation of a stretched

         string
